Welcome to Ashleigh Farms
Ashleigh Farms is a 3rd generation family pig farm based in West Waterford, a few miles from the south coast of Ireland. Like many Irish farms in the 1960’s it reared just 2 outdoor sows, but through the vision and dedication of Jim and Eleanor McGrath it has developed into a prosperous family business. Today, it thrives as a successful family business, renowned for its commitment to producing high-quality pork, prioritising animal welfare, sustainable practices, and innovative approaches, ensuring that they remain at the cutting edge of the pig farming industry.

Ashleigh Milling
We produce almost all the feed supplied to our pigs. The feed ingredients are high quality raw materials sourced from approved suppliers. We carry out strict quality assurance protocols to ensure only the highest quality feed is available to our pigs. Our diets are formulated by specialist nutritional companies and are constantly monitored and reviewed to ensure we are achieving the maximum efficiency.
Ashleigh Breeding
The objective is to achieve a higher number of piglets produced annually by each sow using a Danish breed of pig, and by achieving improvements in breeding efficiency, optimal nutrition, and enhanced herd management practices. This includes the implementation of genetic selection programs, close monitoring of sow reproductive health, and the use of advanced technologies to track and optimize farrowing intervals and litter sizes.

Innovation and Sustainability
Ashleigh Farms places a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship and energy sustainability, promoting long-term ecological balance and resource efficiency. By leading projects that transform agricultural by-products into valuable resources, Ashleigh Farms demonstrates that innovation in farming is not just about new tools, but about reimagining how farms can operate sustainably, efficiently and profitably in the future.
